Padlet Wall on Migration to Turkey

 

For our project, we explored the topic “Reasons for Migration to Türkiye and Its Impacts”. Using Padlet as our main collaboration platform gathered and organized information about why people migrate to Türkiye, the economic and social impacts of migration, and the challenges migrants face while adapting to life in a new country. In assignment, I (Alfredın HOUAHOUA) worked with my friends named Adem Bozkurt and Ekrem Başkara.

We learned from sources like UNHCR, the World Bank, IOM, and UNICEF that Türkiye currently hosts over 3.6 million Syrian refugees due to the ongoing Syrian Civil War. Economically, migrants contribute to sectors such as agriculture, textiles, and construction, especially in cities like Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa. However, their presence can also create challenges such as job competition and housing shortages. Socially, language barriers are significant issues, especially for children seeking education.

Padlet made it easier for us to share articles, brainstorm ideas, and comment on each other’s contributions in real-time. It allowed for a visually organized workspace that supported our group’s collaboration, especially when we couldn’t meet in person.

This kind of collaborative project not only helped us develop research and teamwork skills, but also strengthened our communication, critical thinking, and digital literacy—essential 21st century skills that are crucial for both academic and professional success.

İnstructor provided us three options for this project, such as creating a public service announcement (shortly PSA), how to do projects and a functional story. We were a group of three members and decided to create a public service announcement project.   We stand the “This Is Our Planet, Let's Keep the Water Bodies Clean” public announcement as the project topic. It focuses on calling to stop pouring cooking oil down the sink. To simplify the task process, we divided it into three parts. One member did research and vocalized the information he collected. One Minute, One Idea, One Change

Hello everyone! For this given, I created a 60-second podcast where I talk about an inspiring idea that will help the world, with direct actions. In my episode, I portray a “Kindness Kiosk”, a small stand where every neighborhood can receive or have something useful, like options, books, notes of encouragement, or even a backup summary. It’s all about spreading simple, everyday kindness and reminding them that it’s not done alone. The easy part was coming up with the idea; I’ve always believed that small actions can make a big difference. The challenge was to write a script that fit perfectly within a minute, while still being meaningful and engaging. It was actually really fun to run, but I had to rerun it a few times to get the tone just right. I wanted it to be real, like I was speaking from my heart.
