Integrating AI into Grammar Instruction: "Must" vs. "Have to"

Hello everyone and welcome back. I am excited to share our latest teaching material, an AI-integrated worksheet focused on the distinctions between "must" and "have to." This was a collaborative effort with my group members: Adem Bozkurt, Ekrem Başkara, and Berken Aytın. For this project, I was responsible for designing the Target Task. My focus was on creating a structured prompt that students could use with Generative AI tools like Gemini or ChatGPT. The goal was to guide the AI to produce A2-level sentences that clearly illustrate the difference between internal and external obligation. By setting up this comparison, students can actively analyze how their original sentences differ from the AI-enhanced versions, fostering a deeper understanding of these grammar points. Stepping Into London: Exploring AR/VR in the Language Classroom

Hello and welcome back everyone. In this lesson, we are assigned with a new task called Exploring AR/VR in the Language Classroom.  Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are becoming very popular in education. Simply put, VR puts you inside a digital world, while AR adds digital images to the real world. The best thing about them is that students can "travel" to new places without leaving the classroom. However, there are some disadvantages. For example, you need good internet, and buying VR glasses (like Google Cardboard) can cost money. For our project, my group members (Adem, Ekrem, Berken, and I) created a lesson plan called "Augmented/Virtual Reality Integrated Teaching Material". Our target audience is high school prep students at the A2 level. The goal of the lesson is to take a tour of London landmarks. We divided the tasks among the four of us. I was responsible for the second part: The British Museum. I found the 360-degree tour of the museum an...

Grammar Teaching Video for a Flipped EFL Classroom.

Hello guys. Welcome again. Today I’m going to tell you about my new assignment called creating a grammar teaching video for a flipped EFL classroom. The Flipped Classroom is a teaching method that reverses the traditional learning environment. In traditional classrooms , you learn the lesson in class (lecture) and do the practice at home (homework). But in flipped classroom, you learn the lesson at home (via videos/readings) and do the practice in class. The benefit is that class time is no wasted-on lectures anymore. Instead, 100% of class time is used for speaking, interaction, and using the language with the teacher's help. However, if students don't watch the video at home, they can't participate in the class activities. For this assignment, we formed a group of three members: Adem Bozkurt, Ekrem Bakşara, and me. We were assigned to create a grammar teaching video for a flipped EFL classroom. Our task was to create grammar materials, explain them in a video, and t...
